Hello and welcome to the wellness solution.  This program is a 12-month course that is designed to help people know what they need in order to promote wellness and to improve their health and their family’s health, year after year over the course of their lives.  We know it’s confusing out there. Every day we hear something about health and wellness that either conflicts with what we thought we knew or is something we just aren’t doing. The Wellness Solution guides you through the urban legends and just plain misinformation that is being promoted today as health and wellness. This one-of-a-kind online wellness program was created by Dr. Daniel Lonquist and Dr. Greg Haitz and will be presented by both.

Let me tell you a bit more about who they are and what makes this program unique.  From a young age Dr. Lonquist has had a passion for fitness and health which has been reflected in his personal lifestyle, graduate studies and career choice.  Prior to completing his Doctor of Chiropractic Degree at Western States Chiropractic College in Portland, Oregon, Dr. Lonquist attended the University of British Columbia, the University of Alberta and Simon Fraser University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Kinesiology, the study of human movement and performance.  Before moving to Colorado in 1996, Dr. Lonquist practiced in Vancouver, British Columbia where he also served as a member of the Chiropractic College licensing board. Dr. Lonquist has continued his post graduate studies in Colorado earning a specialty in the treatment of spinal trauma and certification as a wellness practitioner. Currently, he is the only practitioner holding this honor in all of Western Colorado.  When not working with patients to improve their health and wellness at his busy practice, he keeps physically active with a cross section of sports such as skiing, tennis, running, hiking and particularly racquetball. He is also an avid reader and committed to keeping current with the latest research on health and wellness. Most recently he was asked to be a nutritional consultant for the local school district #51 meal program.

Dr. Greg Haitz first became interested in health and wellness at a young age. He would often find himself reading food labels and nutritional facts. As a teenager he started studying exercise and nutrition and weight training. These early interests persisted and he found himself pursuing college studies in biology, psychology and exercise at Mesa State College in Grand Junction Colorado.  Dr Haitz finished his studies at Mesa State and was accepted into the prestigious Palmer College of Chiropractic in Iowa where he graduated with his Bachelor of Science Degree and Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 2003. He also completed an internship in the Palmer College Sports Injury and Rehab department. Dr Haitz opened Rimrock Chiropractic: A Creating Wellness Center in Grand Junction, Colorado to help his clients live a healthier lifestyle by addressing the three dimensions of stress – physical, biochemical, and psychological. He incorporates fitness and exercise, weight management and nutrition, stress management and the mind body connection in helping his clients make healthier lifestyle choices. Dr. Greg Haitz was nominated for the Rising Star Chiropractor of the Year in Colorado in 2009 and has lectured extensively in his community on diet, nutrition, fitness and wellness.

Both Dr. Haitz and Dr Lonquist understand that with the rise in obesity, lack of fitness and pervasive stress we need to address lifestyle issues and prevention. Treating disease once it shows up has not been a very good strategy in health care thus far. They feel the health care industry needs to get much more proactive.
